Study Finds Common Supplement May Halt Progression of Alzheimer’s

Memory loss at any stage is a terrifying ordeal to face, but new studies reveal a potential solution to stop the disease from progressing. A recent article from the National Post (September 14, 2015) reports on a trial suggesting that patients who took Resveratrol, an inexpensive supplement, halted the progress of Alzheimer’s disease. “Number one, we found that resveratrol was safe in older people with Alzheimer’s disease and number two, it looked like it may have had a beneficial effect on biomarkers and disease progression,” said Dr. Scott Turner, director of the memory disorders program at Georgetown University Medical Centre, in Washington DC.
