Reducing the risk of COVID-19 and our commitment to our clients, colleagues and communities

This is an unprecedented time in our city, our province, and, indeed, the world. Never before have we encountered a peril of the nature and scale of the global pandemic of COVID-19.

The challenges we all face are daunting as the virus achieves an increasing intensity throughout Canada, U.S. and other parts of the world. Nevertheless, we have every confidence that the enormous efforts of so many will contain the spread of COVID-19 and, in due course, life will return to normal.

The health, safety and well-being of our lawyers and staff, our wonderful clients and members of the community are our sole and overriding objective. To achieve social distancing and to contain the virus, we have enabled all lawyers, law clerks and administrative staff to work from home. While working from home, our team continues to be responsive and attentive to our clients’ needs with kindness and compassion. We  welcome our clients to call or email with any question or concerns they have about their case during these challenging times.

While the majority of our staff is working from home, we remain committed to ensuring that our clients’ cases are being handled with the same dedication and devotion as if we were physically in the office.

We know and appreciate that those clients whose cases have been settled have waited many years for resolution. Others require settlement funds and ongoing payment of accident and disability benefits to cover basic living expenses, or to pay for much needed medications and treatment. For these reasons, there has been no disruption in the continuity of service and for those cases that have been settled, clients can be assured that those funds will be paid to them with minimal delay.

We are committed to the well-being of our clients and staff, and will not be conducting face-to-face client meetings until further notice. We are, however, readily available to communicate through Face Time, Skype, or telephone.

The health and safety of all of us is paramount and we know that the scourge of COVID-19 will pass and brighter and better days await us.

We have every confidence that we, as Canadians, will emerge stronger, more determined, and more resilient as a result of this incredible challenge that we face. Friendship, kindness and community are incredible values that we all share which will be strengthened as a result of this ordeal.
